GIG Credit & Structured Finance provides and arranges capital solutions for businesses, infrastructure developers, project sponsors, governments and institutional counterparties across Greater Southern Africa and select global markets. We focus on financing commercially viable enterprises, strategic assets and capital-intensive projects, with an emphasis on opportunities where conventional financing structures are insufficient, capital requirements are complex or bespoke financial solutions can unlock economic value. Our activities span corporate and project finance, private credit, structured lending, asset-backed finance, acquisition finance, trade and supply chain finance, debt restructuring, refinancing and bespoke capital solutions. We work across the capital structure, developing financing arrangements that reflect the underlying economics, assets, cash flows, counterparties and risk characteristics of each transaction. Our approach is flexible across financing instruments, transaction structures and capital providers, with the capacity to consider transactions ranging from approximately US$1 million to US$5 billion.

We approach financing as a commercial discipline rather than simply the provision of debt. Our work begins with understanding the underlying business, project or asset, its capital requirements and the economic activity it supports. We assess cash-flow generation, asset values, repayment capacity, security arrangements, contractual structures, counterparty strength and the risks associated with execution. We then structure financing solutions around the specific requirements of the transaction, which may include senior and subordinated debt, mezzanine finance, bridge facilities, asset-backed lending, structured credit, guarantees and blended capital arrangements. A particular focus is financing the productive economy. We support the development and expansion of businesses, industrial enterprises, infrastructure systems, energy projects, transportation networks, logistics platforms, critical mineral operations and other strategically important sectors. This includes financing greenfield developments, providing growth and working capital to established enterprises, supporting acquisitions and corporate expansion, and structuring long-term capital for infrastructure and real asset investments. We also seek opportunities to finance trade flows and supply chains, connecting producers, suppliers, distributors and markets through appropriately structured credit facilities.

Our approach integrates financial structuring, investment underwriting and commercial intelligence. We evaluate the quality and sustainability of underlying cash flows, capital structures, collateral, contractual protections, market conditions and potential downside scenarios. Artelligence™, our proprietary intelligence and underwriting platform, supports this process through integrated financial, commercial, market and risk analysis. We work with banks, institutional investors, development finance institutions, private credit providers, family offices and strategic counterparties to assemble and arrange capital where appropriate.

Credit & Structured Finance is closely integrated with GIG's broader investment platform. Our financing activities complement our work in origination, infrastructure development and principal investments, allowing us to identify financing requirements at an early stage and participate across the capital formation process. Where appropriate, GIG may deploy its own capital alongside financing partners, act as a principal lender or participate in structured transactions. This integration enables us to approach opportunities not only as financiers, but as long-term investment partners with an understanding of the underlying enterprise, asset and commercial opportunity.
