GIG Special Advisory provides transaction advisory, capital raising, strategic counsel and infrastructure structuring to corporates, founders, infrastructure developers, governments, state-owned enterprises and institutional counterparties across Greater Southern Africa and select pan-African markets. Our mandates span mergers and acquisitions, structured finance, capital restructuring, project finance and strategic capital raising, with transaction sizes ranging from approximately US$1 million to US$5 billion.

We advise on transactions where capital, strategy and execution are closely connected. Our teams work with clients to assess strategic objectives, capital requirements, transaction structures, counterparties and execution risks, drawing on GIG's investment platform and specialist capabilities across artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, geopolitics, government affairs, real estate and supply chains. In infrastructure, we support bid strategy, concession structures, financial modelling, procurement and financing arrangements designed to achieve bankability and execution. Special Advisory is closely integrated with GIG's investment activities. Our advisory work gives us a direct view of companies, assets, sectors and markets and, where appropriate, creates opportunities for GIG to participate as a principal investor alongside clients and partners. We can therefore support a transaction across its lifecycle, from origination and strategic advice through structuring, capitalisation and investment.

We accept mandates selectively and focus on situations where GIG can provide differentiated strategic or financial value. Our objective is not simply to complete transactions, but to build long-term relationships and identify opportunities where capital and expertise can create lasting value.
